Shootout Information

This event is open to Division I prospects by INVITATION ONLY.


Invitations should arrive late August.

340 players will participate as well as 200+ college coaches attend annually at this event!

This is a NCAA Certified Event - during the only fall open viewing period.

Players must arrive 1 hour before thier first scheduled game to register and attend the mandatory NCAA Lecture. The schedule will be posted by Tuesday, September 28 and an email will be sent to notify you when it is.

Games are played: 4:45pm to 10:00pm.

You will play 2 games and are free to leave after your second game.

Blue Chip personnel place participants on teams coached by local AAU coaches. Each team has no more than 10 players and players are guaranteed 50% playing time. Each player receives a numbered reversible which identifies her to the college coaches in attendance.

Concessions will be available.

Admissions will be charged:

Adults: $5

Students/Seniors: $3

(Students are 17 and under/Seniors are 65 or over)

  • The Blue Chip Shootout is an exposure event for student athletes who aspire to play at the college level.
  • The Shootout provides each athlete with the opportunity to compete against quality competition for Division II and Division III coaches as well as Division I coaches, if the shootout is scheduled during the Open Viewing Period.
  • College recruiters in attendance will receive athlete profile information packets.
  • Each athlete will be guaranteed 50% playing time.
  • Blue Chip staff members will make up the teams prior to the weekend based on player's height and position.
  • Teams are coached by area basketball coaches. It is the responsibility of the players to inform their Shootout coach of the position that they wish to play.
  • Man to man defense only, with a limit of ten players or less per team.
  • Transportation, food and lodging are the responsibility of each athlete.
